Along Came Polly

Short Take

Ben Stiller, doing his patented schlemiel schtick, plays an uptight risk analyst who falls for the footloose, commitment-phobic Polly (Jennifer Aniston). Stiller and Aniston are consistently engaging, and Philip Seymour Hoffman and Hank Azaria are hilarious in supporting roles. The movie's first ten minutes are a model of story-telling economy, and although things unravel a bit after that, the picture--though slight--is very funny.
