Gigi

This fluffy movie won many Oscars back when. I'm not really sure why, though it is certainly a classic in the fluffy genre. To be fair, there are some nifty lines and some nice music, and the photography is lush, and the costuming is lavish. But I think it is the sort of picture that appeals mostly to young girls who collect porcelain dolls and teddy bears. Nonetheless, the woman in the title role is lovely, and the happy ending is nice, if a bit naive. I, of course, tuned in for a brief scene early in the picture, in which a flirtatious woman infuriates her escort by making eyes at every man in a restaurant. A friend of mine thought I might be able to relate, for reasons that hardly need be stated. He was right.
