Shaun of the Dead

Short Take

A British slacker-zombie comedy, and you don't see that very often! The central gag is that London is being overrun by flesh-eating zombies, but for quite a while the good natured but unambitious Shaun doesn't even notice. Even after he does he and his buddy Ed treat the whole business as more of a nuisance than a crisis (on the level of, say, a power outage). It's good British fun, though the later zombie-fighting scenes which, perhaps, were unavoidable, lose some of the loony originality in favor of more conventional heroics. Quite amusing.
