Stakeout

Emilio Estevez and Richard Dreyfuss star in this cop comedy/drama. It starts out really bad, with the two heroes trading bad lines. The picture comes around part of the way through, and is reasonable from that point on, with a modicum of suspense and a decent portrayal by Dreyfuss of a man caught up in a situation he cannot quite control. Unfortunately it ends in a typical overblown and unconvincing climax. I will say that the woman who stars as the object of Dreyfuss' desires (unfortunately I can't remember her name) is stunning enough to distract anyone from his job. Oh well.
