The Amateur

An intriguing idea, about a CIA worker who blackmails the agency into helping him get revenge on his girlfriend's murderers. But, in the Time's phrase, it hops the track. The real roadblock here is star John Savage, who is so wooden and boring and unappealing that it's hard to give a shit what happens to him. With a captivating lead, all the other faults might not have mattered. As it is, it's just one error compounding the next. Skip it.
