The Best of Times

How's this: the Rocky of former high school football teams? A warm, affectionate, and well-handled--if entirely predictable--comedy about a group of middle-aged guys who re-play the biggest game of their lives, and thereby rejuvenate their town, themselves, and... well, goshdarn it... the whole entire U. S. of A. Two performers I really like (Robin Williams and Kurt Russell) give good, controlled peformances. And, I have to admit, the final twist did catch me by surprise. OK, not entirely predictkable.
