The Manchurian Candidate (remake)

This remake of the 1962 thriller is exquisitely modulated by director Jonathan Demme. It has been updated with 2004-style paranoia and boasts terrific performances by Denzel Washington, Liev Schreiber, and a very creepy Meryl Streep.
