Working Girl

A near-flawless entertainment vehicle; you can't help liking this picture. It reminded me of “Outrageous Fortune,” in that it is so good, so seamless, so professionally crafted (by first rate talents), and so funny, yet it plays fair by never stepping outside the bounds it sets for itself. A class act with great performances by Melanie Griffith, Joan Cusack, and top direction by Mike Nichols (no wonder it works so well).
