Basic Instinct

Directed by: Paul Veerhoeven Written by: Joe Eszterhaus Starring: Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone Turgid, humorless melodrama which, for all the heavy breathing, is hardly worth the paper it was written on ($3 million!). The most amusing thing about this picture is the realization as you watch it that all the protesting groups were wasting their time; it simply doesn't merit that kind of attention. And despite the sex scenes, the only people who should be offended by this are those that take exception to bad movies.
