Tom Hanks is everything they said he was in this in this comedy fantasy about a large boy who wins over the adult world through ingenuousness and charm, but the picture is not quite. Good? Yes. Humorous? Yes, in a generally gentle sort of way, though there are some uproarious moments. Poignant? Yes (at the end). And there are some classic moments (the giant keyboard, the baby corn, the product conference with the buildings). It is certainly worth seeing, but the cumulative impact was less than I expected. All the performers are fine; I liked Robert Loggia as the boss, and the kid who plays Hanks' best friend. Hanks is the standout though; he is extraordinary in this tricky role.
