Big Business
I watched this on an airplane, but there seemed to be a lot of screaming going on in the picture. I guess this was somebody's idea of a good movie: Wake Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler and make them play dual roles, as mismatched twins, two from the blg city and two frcm the sticks. Well yes they are fine eomedians and in fact pretty good actresses. They both have a flair for comic timing, though I'd have to say that Midler has the edge there. On the other hand, the picture should never have made it past the "let's have lunch" stage. The problem is it's just kind of stupid; you can't make a star vehicle (or even a two-star vehicle) better simply by giving them each two roles to play; you need a better script. The picture is actually more of a triumph of logisties than craativity--it must have been hand to orchestrate all the near misses and near meetings which were supposedly energize the mistaken identaty plot.
But the picture is a yawn; there are a couple of mildly amusing bits but I cannot remember once laughing out loud. It comes to a completely predictable ending in which the good guys win. The picture lampoons both big city slickers and hicks, and ends up insulting both.
