John Q.

The formidable Denzel Washington plays a man who gets mad--really mad--at his HMO when it won't pay for his son's heart transplant. It would have been nice if the filmmakers demonstrated even the slightest understanding of how health care really works, but they are too busy whipping up the crowd with cheap characterizations and pro-forma outrage. Dramatically, the picture is a sop, and its awfully hard to get behind John Q., no matter how justifiable his anger.
