Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
Clearly the worst of the three Terminator movies, T3 never rises above the level of competently directed special effects. Perhaps the best effect is Arnold himself, who doesn't look all that much different than he did in the original. Nick Stahl and Claire Danes don't seem to have enough backbone to be future leaders of the human race (Edward Furlong showed a lot more in T2). Kristanna Loken is an impressive T-X, kind of a female version of Robert Patrick's T-1000, but therein lies the problem. T3 is more than just a retread; it actually replicates--almost exactly--many of the famous bits from the earlier movies. I guess the machines really are taking over, but if that's the most imaginative thing they can come up with, the series is doomed.
